Bhutan is a small land-locked country wedged in the lap of Himalayas in between China and Nepal. Bhutanese population consisted of two groups: – A group which consisted of immigrants from vicinities like Tibet, China, Arunachal Pradesh and indigenous tribes who practiced Buddhism as their religion, faith based on the teachings of Buddha. The other group consisted of Nepali speaking Bhutanese who practice Hinduism, faith based on the Vedas and Gita. The then government of Bhutan declared Buddhism as the national religion of the nation subjugating other faiths including Christianity. Most of the Nepali-speaking Bhutanese were expelled and exiled to the nearby countries like Nepal and India. Spending 22 years of life in refugee camps under severe conditions did not let people grow in the desired faith, still hooked in the traditional superstitious beliefs. A small number of Bhutanese Refugees who spent around two decades of their life within the boundaries of refugee camps in eastern Nepal enduring several kinds of hardships are resettled in the vicinities of Colerain, Cincinnati, Ohio by generous govt. of USA, UNO (united nations organization) in co-operation with IOM (international organization of migration) and Catholic Charities. Many of these refugees are Christian in faith and others who recently got converted accepting JESUS CHRIST as their personal Savior and Lord.

Comprising of people of different aspects, mostly elder generation who have no or limited skills of spoken and written English and younger generation who still have nostalgic yester-days, find difficulty in assimilating in the local English churches.

With a very strong sense of need of Nepali speaking church for enhancing the devotional Christian life        interpreting the Holy Bible in Nepali language as the only scriptural guidance, preserving the ancestral culture, language and Nepali scripture, this BHUTANESE EMMANUEL CHURUCH OF CINCINNATI (BECC) has been established on 1st of January 2016 under the leadership of devoted, committed   and biblically matured pastors, elders and general members with a common motto of praising and  worshipping the Lord together irrespective of sex, age, caste and color, profession and ethnicity.

With limited resources and supplies, this congregation which mainly harbors/herds the Nepali speaking folks to fulfill their thirst of spiritual closeness to the LORD, HIS Kingdom and Eternal life, is committed to its vision where every member of this congregation can worship and attain their spiritual satisfaction with their whole heart and mind, in the years to come, where the guidance of THE HOLY SPIRIT and THE LORD is always upon this congregation.
